EVOC 639
Professional Competencies in Vocational Education Comprehensive Examination/Distance Learning Option!

Scholars who live long distances from the CSUSB campus and/or who have schedules that preclude attending the EVOC 639 course on campus at CSUSB may wish to consider the new (still being developed) Comprehensive Examination/Distance Learning Option. Presently, in order to qualify for this option, a scholar must be able do the following things:

  1. Produce documents using one of these:
  2. Send and receive e-mail with attachments (i.e., Eudora, Yahoo Mail, etc).
  3. Establish and update personal website on the World Wide Web.
  4. Prepare and post documents on the World Wide Web (i.e., assignment.doc, index.HTML, etc.).
  5. Prepare and post GIF and JPEG files.
Scholar's who can do all the above and are interested in the Comprehenseive Examination/Distance Learning Option should review the EVOC 639 Professional Competencies in Vocational Eduacation Website. This page exemplifies the requirements for the on-campus course (see Comprehensive Examination/Distance Learning Assignments on the EVOC 639 website). Those who elect the Comprehenseive Examination/Distance Learning option are expected to organize their own Portfolio or Website on the World Wide Web, developing links showing each completed assignment item listed on the EVOC 639 website. An index page and links to each assignment at minimum are required for the website. Emphasis will be placed on each scholars creative abilities to define an adequate style for presenting their documents via Portfolio or on the World Wide Web (there is no right or wrong format). Each link on the EVOC 639 home page leads to specific information about the criteria established for each assignment.

As stated, scholars who elect the Comprehenseive Examination/Distance Learning option will be expected to post a variety of materials in their portfolio or web sites. They will also be expected to submit specified written assignments to the instructor via e-mail and to interact with other class members via e-mail.

After reviewing all of the EVOC 639 materials and the specific information associated with the webpage cited above; and are interested in the Comprehenseive Examination/Distance Learning option, you should e-mail Dr. Joe Scarcella at jscarcel@csusb.edu to request an EVOC 639 Comprehenseive Examination/Distance Learning Contract.
