INSTRUCTOR CREDENTIALS
Joe is a FAA Glider Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE), Airman Certification Representative (ACR), Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) Glider and Airplane, Instrument Ground Instructor (IGI), Advanced Ground Instructor (AGI), and holds the following other pilot ratings and endorsements - Commercial Glider, Commercial Airplane, Instrument Airplane, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), and Self-Launch/Motor Glider, Winch/Ground Launch Glider, Tail-Wheel, Complex, High Performance, High-Altitude Endorsements. Joe holds a Ph.D. in Education from the University of Missouri - Columbia. For more than 20 years he has served California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) in leadership capacities as Assistant Dean for the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus (PDC), Interim Chair for Educational Leadership and Technology, and Coordinator for Career and Technical Education. He is a Tenured Full Professor and has been teaching for more than 25 years. His passions are Aviation and Education. Prior to joining CSUSB he served as a professor at Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO). He taught High School, held managerial positions in industry, and also served his country honorably as a commissioned United States Naval Officer, leaving the Navy at the rank of lieutenant. Joe has been a pilot since the early 1980s. He teachers for Aviation Seminars and Cypress Soaring, and served as a volunteer pilot for the San Bernardino County Sheriff Aero Squadron.
