RE: EVOC 501 Course Evaluation
1. How much experience have you had with online courses? -
The EVOC courses I am enrolled in for this quarter, Spring 2006, are my first experience with online courses.
2. How did EVOC 501 compare to other courses you have had? -
It was a very straight forward easier to follow course. Although challenging at times some of the material was less demanding than traditional courses I have taken in the past.
3. How would you describe the directions for course assignments? -
Very clear, well written and easy to follow.
4. How would you describe the examples of course assignments? -
Like the directions, the examples were very clear and easy to follow. They indicated the manner in which the assignment was to be completed, but left room for the student to add to them from their own personal experience and to make improvements.
5. How would you describe the organization of the E-TEXT? -
Very well organized. The simplicity makes it very user friendly.
6. How would you describe feedback provided by the instructor? -
Fair, a good source of reinforcement.
7. What did you like best about the online EVOC 501 course? -

8. Which of the assignment(s) did you find to be of most value? -
I felt the evaluations were very useful. I appreciated the chance to reflect on my performance as an instructor. Conducting the evaluations made the whole experience seem less like an eminent doom to be feared and more like what it is, a tool to be used to improve instruction and benefit students.
9. Which of the assignment(s) did you find to be of least value? -
I saw the value in doing all of the assignments. If the question asked which one did you like the least I d have to say the video. There s something about that conglomeration of plastic parts that makes me nervous. I guess I have a fear of inanimate objects especially ones that have the capacity of capturing my image and showing it back to me.
10. What is your overall impression of the value of EVOC 501? -
Prior to this class I had no formal teaching instruction. It answered many of the questions I had about the appropriate way to develop and implement a curriculum and assisted me with classroom management. I think it is a good foundation to build on as far as formal teaching instruction. I enjoyed t
